Global Firm Launches Latest Cyber Lab at the Port

10-15-2019

CACI International Inc, a $5 billion provider of expertise and distinctive technology that address our customers’ greatest enterprise and mission challenges, has opened a high-tech research and development facility at Port San Antonio. This is the latest among numerous information security operations inaugurated in recent months on the 1,900-acre technology campus—the epicenter of San Antonio’s continued growth as “Cyber City, USA.”

CACI’s new 8,000-square-foot facility is part of the Port’s Project Tech cybersecurity complex and will further raise the campus’ profile as a leading center for cybersecurity innovation, particularly as the company serves clients throughout San Antonio’s large defense community.

“This new facility is going to help us expand our presence in the San Antonio region,” said Kevin Kelly, President of CACI’s National Security and Innovative Solutions sector, during a launch ceremony at the Port in September. “CACI is closely aligned with the 24th Air Force and NSA’s mission to develop a decisive advantage for our nation and its allies.”

“We are very proud to partner with them in those missions and offer our technology and expertise to achieve their goals through the use of this secured collaboration facility,” Kelly added.

Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, CACI already has various operations throughout San Antonio and plans to hire additional local staff to fill jobs based at the Port. These include software and systems engineers, cyber architects, intelligence analysts, and others.

CACI will also offer internships to students as part of its growing partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).

CACI’s latest facility will be housed in Project Tech Building 1 at the Port—a state-of-the art building with special features that support advanced cybersecurity operations.

“We launched our National Security Collaboration Center to bring leading university, government and industry partners to solve our nation’s greatest security challenges,” said Dr. Taylor Eighmy, President of UTSA, during the launch ceremony. He also cited CACI’s role as one of the founding partners of the Center.

“CACI is an early adopter of our research enterprise and is standing up research projects with us,” continued Eighmy. “This collaboration has accelerated new technology to advance the speed and efficiency of technical solutions for our nation’s security.”

“UTSA has a number of programs and is prepared to deliver the cybersecurity talent that is needed to support the missions of our partners,” stated Dr. Kevin McNeill, CACI International Senior Vice President of Cyber Solutions. “It has long been a goal of ours to establish this facility and to create opportunities for service members who are completing their Air Force careers.”
