Job Opening: Project Associate

Position Summary: Provides support to Real Estate Development Department, including a direct role in project and construction management, serving as liaison with other departments, and performing administrative functions that support department goals.

Working Conditions: General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Functions:

  • Serve as member of project teams in support of managers who are responsible for delivery of real estate, infrastructure and construction projects that serve the Port’s long-term goals and customer needs.
  • Oversee Gold and Blue Form process to ensure timely approvals and response times from other departments.
  • Serve as primary department liaison with Contracting Officer on procurement matters, including Request for Qualifications/ Proposals, IDIQ contracts, etc.
  • Prepare materials needed by the VP and project management staff for conference, correspondence, appointments, meetings and telephone calls.
  • Notes commitments made by executive or staff during meetings and arranges for implementation or staff follow up.
  • Prepares special or one-time reports, summaries or replies to inquiries.
  • Schedules appointments, answers incoming calls and transfers to appropriate staff and reads and routes incoming mail.
  • Greets visitors and directs to appropriate person.
  • Prepares charts, PowerPoint presentations, graphs or tables.

  • Assists in processing time sheets and travel documentation.
  • May monitor departmental costs and maintain departmental records.

Position Summary: Under the direction of President and CEO, and in collaboration with members of the Executive Leadership Team and Stakeholders, leads the Port''s engagement with public officials and the development of local, state and federal priorities in advancement of the Port''s mission.

Functions:

Job Opening: Systems Administrator

Position Summary: Performs all onsite service and analysis functions related to technology for Port San Antonio including workstations, servers, storage networks and vendor specific hardware and software.

Server Administration:

  • Configure and administer Windows Servers: Server 2012/2012 R2; Server 2008/2008 R2
  • Configure and administer Core Microsoft back office solution: Exchange 2010; SharePoint 2010
  • Configure and administer system center datacenter suite technologies: SCOM, SCCM, and SCVMM
  • Configure and administer Microsoft Virtualization systems: Hyper-V, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
  • Configure and administer Active Directory Services Infrastructure, Group Policy Management, Certificate Services, Clustering Solutions, DNS Infrastructure, and DHCP Services.
  • Configure and administer HP Smart Update Manager (HP SUM) for server blade firmware and software updates

Storage Administration

  • Configure and manage Storage Area Network (SAN) and associated components; including Fibre Channel switch administration.
  • Configure and manage data restores and disaster recovery
  • Configure and manage data backup clients and servers
  • Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
  • Storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components
  • Prepare reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize storage

Backup Administration

  • Responsible for gathering requirements, installation, configuration, and testing of backups in a high availability enterprise system
  • Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms
  • Maintain all equipment for backup environments to include servers, disks, and cloud services.
  • Configure and administer Core Microsoft back office solution: Data Protection Manager (DPM)

Database Administration

  • Responsible for all functions associated with the design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of SQL Server databases including security, backup, logging, and reporting procedures.
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred.

Position Summary: Maintains grounds Port San Antonio property.

Working Conditions: Outdoor work, walking, standing, sitting, hearing, bending, crouching. Employee may be subject to moderate noise, extreme temperatures and hazardous conditions. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with or without accommodation, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Functions:

  • Mows lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds and walls and installs sod.
  • Waters and prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches or twigs.
  • Sprays lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides.
  • Cleans grounds, removes litter and rakes leaves.
  • Spreads salt on public passage ways to prevent ice buildup during freezing weather.
  • Plants flowers, trees and shrubs.
  • Repairs and paints fences, gates, walls, walks and outbuildings when covered with graffiti.
  • Removes debris from drainage ditches and culverts.
  • Uses machinery such as bobcats, backhoes, shovels, mowers, edgers, ladders, fertilizer spreaders and lawn rollers.

Replaces defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring
Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
Fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts
Installs air and water filters
Bend tubing, cut and thread pipe, use machine or hand threading equipment
Observes pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls to ensure efficient operation
