GDC Technics is a turnkey completion center specializing in aircraft interiors for dignitaries, heads-of-state, and VIPs. Founded as a design firm in 1988, GDC became an approved maintenance and completion facility for Boeing and Airbus - one of only two completion centers in the United States to carry this distinction.
Today GDC (formerly known as Gore Design Completions) provides innovative solutions in aircraft design along with engineering, installation, and maintenance services for narrow and wide-body aircraft. The company’s 280,000-square-foot hangar at Port San Antonio encompasses a custom upholstery shop, finish shop, machine shop, avionics/electrical shop, and full cabinet and sheet metal parts fabrication capabilities.
An ISO 9001:AS 9100-certified operation, GDC uses three custom-engineered platforms to pre-fit airplane cabin furniture, minimizing downtime on aircraft that arrive at the hangar for work. GDC has also achieved Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) by the Federal Aviation Administration, allowing it to perform certification work on government aircraft.
Projects in the GDC portfolio include green completions, refurbishments, or maintenance for aircraft such as the Boeing 727, Boeing 737 BBJ, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 777-200LR, Boeing 757, and Boeing 777, along with the Airbus 320, Airbus 330, Airbus A340-200, and Airbus A340-500.
In 2009, as growth dictated the need for more space, GDC expanded its facility at Port San Antonio by more than 100,000 square feet, nearly half of which was an extension of the existing space to provide room for four wide bodies and one narrow body to be housed in the hangar at the same time.
