A new medical and dental clinic at Tech Port is giving campus employers a chance to offer their workforce a convenient, low-cost path to care.
Crossover at the Port, located in the historic Bungalow Colony on the Tech Port campus, is Boeing's first clinic anywhere to bring primary care and dental services together under one roof. It's also the first Boeing clinic opened beyond the company's own workforce: any employer on the Tech Port campus can now partner with the clinic's operators, Crossover Health and Onsite Dental, to extend the benefit to their own employees.

The clinic already serves Boeing's 5,000-plus San Antonio workforce and their families, along with Port San Antonio's approximately 100 employees, who were the first to take Boeing up on the opportunity.
Boeing and Port San Antonio celebrated the clinic's opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 10, drawing dozens of attendees, including State Rep. Josey Garcia and State Sen. Jose Menendez.
"It is absolutely wonderful that Boeing is investing in primary care for their employees, for Port employees, for people across this campus," said Port San Antonio President and CEO Jim Perschbach. "What we're hoping is that this is the first step of an investment so that the value generated out of these neighborhoods starts to flow into these neighborhoods. It's not charity."

"It's also the first clinic to serve not only Boeing employees and eligible family members, but also neighboring employers — Port San Antonio, obviously the big one to start with," said Warren Helm, Boeing San Antonio site leader. "It's the strong partnership between Boeing San Antonio and Port San Antonio that made this happen, and we thank them for taking this journey with us."
Menendez, who represents District 26 and served on the San Antonio City Council in the late 1990s during the closure transition of Kelly Air Force Base, said the decision to open the clinic beyond Boeing's own workforce sets an example worth following.
"It makes sense that you want to take care of your 5,000 employees and their families, but the fact that you would open it to all of the Port tenants as well — that's what's brilliant about the whole thing," he said. "I hope that more employers here and around the state can look at this, see the value, and want to do this too."
For State Representative Josey Garcia, the clinic's location carries personal significance. Garcia served as facility manager and logistician of the Kelly Dental Clinic during her time in the U.S. Air Force.
"I was proud to serve at that clinic — and like many of our military folks, we were heartbroken to see it go when Kelly Field closed," Garcia said. "This new health care and dental clinic represent mission readiness."

The clinic offers preventive care, same-day and near-term appointments, telehealth, physical therapy, and mental health support, alongside a full range of dental services. Dental care is open to the public and accepts most insurance; primary care requires an employer to sign on and complements, rather than replaces, existing health insurance.
Boeing officials credited a change in federal law, which the company advocated for, making the clinic possible. "We needed to get some legislation passed in Washington to allow us to offer this to all of our employees, regardless of which health plan they choose," said Michelle Neblett of Boeing Government Operations. "This is the first clinic we've opened since that law passed, and we're looking forward to opening many more across the country."

Crossover Health's chief medical officer, Dr. Stephen Ezeji-Okoye, said the clinic's model is built around more than treating illness. "Part of taking care of people is making sure we have their trust," Ezeji-Okoye said. "We've designed our care model to focus on much more than disease: the physical, the social, and the psychological aspects that really have a huge impact on people's health."
Port San Antonio is home to more than 80 employers and 19,000 workers across its campus. Officials say they hope other tenant companies will consider extending the same access to their own workforces in the months ahead.
