SAN ANTONIO, Texas — South Texas continues to grow as a major strategic center for U.S. cybersecurity following the arrival of Radiance Technologies, Inc. to the Port San Antonio campus. The company joins several government- and private-sector cyber operations already based at the Port, with a combined workforce of nearly 1,000 cybersecurity experts at the site.

Radiance provides an array of engineering and technology services—principally to customers within the U.S. Department of Defense. The company is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama and now operates in 15 U.S. States and Afghanistan.

The firm ’s more than 500 employees worldwide provide critical support in several advanced technology specialties, including cybersecurity, technical intelligence, operational intelligence, and integration and prototyping.

Radiance’s new offices at Port San Antonio, at 3133 General Hudnell Drive, allow the firm to better serve its customers located inside and nearby the Port’s 1,900-acre campus. These include the 24th Air Force—commonly known as the Cyber Command—which, along with several other Air Force agencies, is located within an expansive force-protected complex at the Port.

Radiance’s new offices will allow the company to better serve the 24th Air Force / Cyber Command and other company clients who are also located at the Port.

“Radiance is committed to providing quality services to our customers, and we have learned there is no better way to do that than to establish a local presence where we are providing those services,” said Bryan Johnson, Senior Vice President of Radiance’s Cyber Solutions Group. “We are very excited to bring that philosophy to San Antonio and look forward to becoming an even more integral part of the San Antonio community.”

The company’s other local customers include the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center and the Responsive Cyber Acquisition Branch, also based at the Port.

“Over the past decade the San Antonio community has emerged as a national leader in cybersecurity—the new frontier of defense,” said Port President and CEO Roland Mower. “In that time, thanks to our ability to quickly deliver highly specialized facilities and infrastructure that meet the Department of Defense’s needs, the Port has become a hub where important operations continue to consolidate. We are proud to add Radiance’s expertise to that roster.”

Radiance’s new offices will be at the Roberson Building—3133 General Hudnell Drive—just down the street from some of the region’s largest cybersecurity operations.

“There is a strong future in information technology and security, and I am proud that our community, and the Port in particular, have become a center of excellence in cybersecurity that continues to attract innovative enterprises and their talented workers,” said San Antonio City Councilman Rey Saldaña, whose District 4 encompasses most of the Port. “I want to offer Radiance a warm welcome to our community and great success in their efforts in the years ahead.”

“The arrival of firms like Radiance add to the depth and breadth of San Antonio’s capabilities as one of our nation’s top centers for cybersecurity,” said Will Garrett, Director of Cybersecurity San Antonio—a San Antonio Chamber of Commerce initiative that supports and accelerates the industry’s regional growth. “There is clear momentum on our side, and we look forward to continue leading efforts across San Antonio—in partnership with firms like Radiance, educators, the Port and public partners—to fortify an ecosystem where cybersecurity business can succeed and continue to thrive.”
