688th Cyberspace Wing, SAMSAT Partner for Cybersecurity Resilience Training

10-04-2021

Throughout September, enlisted and reserve airmen from the 688th Cyberspace Wing participated in a series of hands-on simulations and other state-of-the-art training exercises in San Antonio — Cyber City, USA.

This gathering was an integral part of the U.S. Air Force’s unyielding commitment to ensure world-class resilience and superiority in the digital domain.

The San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT) was a key partner in this national priority. Located in the heart of Port San Antonio and surrounded by many of our country’s top cybersecurity experts and innovators, the museum’s training center provides airmen from across the nation a unique platform in which to gather, sharpen their skills and build an ever-stronger team.

During the training exercises, participants had the opportunity to interact directly with leadership from the 688th Cyberspace Wing and observe demonstrations from participating airmen as they concluded their latest training activities.

They also learned about SAMSAT’s and Port San Antonio’s big plans ahead in the continual support of our nation’s cyber warriors. Beginning in 2022, a new 130,000-square-foot innovation center across from the current training facility will provide an even larger state-of-the-art platform for similar essential activities.

Together, we are ensuring that our nation’s digital defenders have an unparalleled place in which to connect, grow and innovate the technologies that are keeping our nation secure in the century ahead.
