GDIT will utilize its new space to develop advanced cyber and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance solutions to support the Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber) headquartered on the Port campus and at neighboring Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

"San Antonio is a strategic cyber hub for the Air Force and is the nation's second largest cybersecurity community," said Brian Sheridan, GDIT's Senior Vice President for defense. "Given its incredible potential, we see a great opportunity to leverage our cyber expertise and grow our footprint. Our investments will also further expand the city's tech workforce and drive innovation in the region."

"GDIT is about innovation and integrating technologies; we are an information technology company," said Peter Lambert, GDIT Vice President of Air Force C5ISR Programs. "When you think about people out in the field doing things, we're the ones that want to be connecting them — providing them information technologies to better enable their ability to go about and do their business."

As the largest technology campus in the Alamo City, the Port is at the center of the community's significant growth in information security and related sectors. It is home to more than 80 public and private sector enterprises, including a rapidly growing ecosystem of locally based startups. GDIT will partner with these companies and academic institutions such as the University of Texas at San Antonio, which houses some of the top cybersecurity programs in the nation, to cultivate a talent pipeline of IT innovators and technologists through internship opportunities and mentorship programs.

Thanks to a vast and growing array of highly specialized commercial and industrial spaces — combined with strategic business and talent development support — industries based at the Port are connecting with one another as they deliver technological innovations that are transforming mature industry sectors regionally, nationally and globally.
