IPSecure established its first Port San Antonio location—totaling 8,000 square feet—in 2015, and more than doubled its secure office facility space in 2017 as it continued to expand its portfolio of both commercial and government clients. The firm’s latest growth milestone will provide an additional boon to the Port’s fast-growing cybersecurity landscape, which contributes to a total campus-wide economic output of over $5 billion a year.
Founded in 2000 by former Air Force avionics electronics lead Jesse Rodriguez, who also serves as the company’s CEO, IPSecure provides an array of services to ensure the safety of highly sensitive networks and data. Initially focusing on telecommunications security for the Department of Defense, the organization has since grown its areas of specialization to include the testing of computer networks in securing them from external and internal threats. Additionally, IPSecure collaborates with educators in offering internship and employment opportunities to students and provides technical accreditation courses through the State of Texas.
“We’re excited for the opportunities this development will provide to our city, Port San Antonio and our employees,” proclaimed Rodriguez. “This latest opening is a reflection of a lot of years of hard work focusing on our customers and building a great team of employees. As we expand our educational offerings, we are truly becoming a comprehensive cybersecurity solutions leader.”
“IPSecure’s latest success is emblematic of the work that is taking place on our campus—a place where people are truly connecting with opportunities across the country and around the world,” said Port President and CEO Jim Perschbach. “We are very pleased that this new space will be dedicated to sharpening and keeping current the skills of existing cyber talent in our community, and that it will help bring in and develop new talent in the years ahead.”
“We are extremely proud to have a company as IPSecure based right here in San Antonio,” said San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President Diane Sanchez, who joined in the launch ceremony. “The work of Jesse and his team are a testament to the global talent that our community offers, and it allows us to continue learning, innovating and sharpening San Antonio’s competitive edge in one of the world’s leading industries.”
