America’s Home for Cybersecurity Innovation and Integration

The Alamo City is home to one of the world's largest and fastest-growing concentrations of cybersecurity experts. Nearly 2,000 of those industry professionals are based in Port San Antonio’s large campus.

Here, innovators defend against threats that target the networks and digital assets that, in an increasingly connected world, power key sectors of America’s economy. National defense, aerospace, manufacturing, power generation/distribution, biomedicine, financial services, telecommunications, and supply-chain logistics are just some of the leading industries that turn to cyber experts based at the Port and throughout our region.

To accelerate the pace of innovation and integration, we’re building an ecosystem like no other in the nation—a unique place where cyber experts, the industries they serve, and an array of educational and research partners converge and collaborate to develop the latest technologies and build unparalleled talent to safeguard our nation’s critical infrastructure.

A HOME FOR LEADERS

Cybersecurity operations at the Port are anchored by leading national and regional cybersecurity operations.

They include the 16th Air Force (Air Forces Cyber), which oversees the integrity of the networks and secures the data of Air Force digital assets worldwide.

The Alamo Regional Security Operations Center (ARSOC) launched here in 2021. It is the nation’s first fully integrated facility that allows local governments and utilities to collaborate 24/7 and share information and resources to protect municipal governments and local utilities against a growing tide of cyberattacks.

In 2022 the Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII) launched the Texas Manufacturing x Transformation Hub (TxMx Hub) training center in the heart of the Port campus—adding another national asset to facilitate the integration of leading-edge cyber expertise and technologies to America’s critical factories.

And throughout the campus, a fast-growing number of private-sector firms lend their expertise to regional and national public- and private sector clients. Among them are legacy names in cybersecurity expertise and a growing number of locally headquartered firms whose expertise has national and global reach.

STRENGTHENING TALENT, SPURRING INNOVATION

Central to our community-building vision is creating spaces and strategic connections that inspire people to grow careers in cybersecurity, have a deeper understanding how different industries will benefit from their information security expertise, and to strengthen those collaborations.

The Port has launched a 130,000-square-foot facility like no other in the nation—Boeing Center at Tech Port—that scales our efforts to connect expertise, education and industries. The state-of-the art venue includes a tech-transfer laboratory for collaboration across different stakeholders, including cyber experts, mature industries, educators, researchers, and public- and private sector partners. Adjacent spaces include a technology museum and public industry showroom where new technologies and applications in cybersecurity can be demonstrated. And a 3,100-seat arena with full broadcasting capabilities provides support for numerous types of functions, including product launches and demonstrations and trainings. Retractable seating allows for the space to also support other industry events, including conferences and trade shows.
